Wheel-o-Calendar

Make yourself a calendar that you can use in any year!

It's the digital era, we have our mobile phones, laptops and other automatic things that tell us what date it is today. So why put an effort to manually change the date in a calendar? Well, for me, adjusting the date marks the start of my day and reminds me of my goals/things to do.

Read on to see how to make this wheel-o-calendar using scrap materials. :)

Materials:
1.  small box
2.   used-up tape rolls (3 rolls)
3.   glue
4.   scotch tape / double-sided tape
5.   steel ruler
6.   cutting mat
7.   marker pen
8.   pencil
9.   colored papers
10. cutter
11. cellophone (not in photo)

Step 1:
Get your three tape rolls and cover them each with a a strip of colored paper.

I used two tape rolls that are 1-inch thick each and one tape roll that is 1.5-inches thick.

You can use craft scissors to cut the edges for a design.

Step 2:
Using a marker, write on the tape rolls with the following:
- 1.5-inches tape roll (green): Write the 12 months
- First 1-inch tape roll: Write the numbers 0-3
- Second 1-inch tape roll: Write the numbers 0-9
Write them all equally spaced
Step 3:
Get your small box and cut a square on top of the cover. This will be the window for your tape rolls.

Step 4:
Place your tape rolls inside the box and see if the window is big enough for your tape rolls to peek out.

Step 5:
Cover the box with a colored paper. Put a 1-inch strip of different color on the left and right sides of the frame of the window. This will serve as your marker for the center of the wheel. Put a strip of cellophane across the window to highlight the date of your calendar.
The finished product!
Put the tape rolls inside the box and you are now finished with your "wheel-o-calendar"!

Just roll those wheels and it's a brand new day! :)

  1. This is great! I always lose track of date and time especially on bum days, like most of my days lately. Haha! :)

  2. It looks complicated at first glance...but it's actually as easy as 1-2-3! It's also a perfect gift idea!
